about Mozambique

With the warm Indian Ocean and over 2400 km’s of coastline, everyone is rushing to experience what is said to be the new Maldives, the next Seychelles, but with the kind of peace and exclusivity that cannot be matched anywhere in the world.

After overcoming Portuguese colonial rule in 1975 and then surviving more than a decade of civil war, Mozambique has risen above the ashes to become one of Africa’s great success stories.

As a member of both the Community of Portuguese Language Countries and the Commonwealth of Nations, Mozambique is now a stable democratic country with a vast booming economy, racing its way towards development and growth.

Through economic reform Mozambique has managed to enjoy a high growth rate since 1993. The government projects the economy to expand between 5 and 10% a year for the next 5 years. One of the biggest factors in Mozambique’s economic growth is the amazing boom in tourism and particularly, island tourism.
