Topuito Isles
geography

The Topuito Isles are in the Moma District of Nampula Province in Northern Mozambique.

Mozambique is an East African country that forms part of the Southern African region. On its east coast is the magnificent Indian Ocean, and its neighbours are Tanzania to the north, Malawi and Zambia to the west, Zimbabwe to the southwest, and South Africa and Swaziland to the southeast.

Nampula Province is home to Ilha de Mocambique, a world heritage site, Nacala, the deepest natural port in Africa and the Gile Game Reserve, which is near Pebane in Zambezia Province, is specifically rich in birdlife and harbouring a few of the last naturally sited wild dogs.

The islands themselves are part of the northern half of the Primeiras and Secundas Archipelago, a proposed world heritage site which contains possibly as much as 20% of Mozambique’s surviving coral.
